Well, look at the types of erotica that are directed at the different sexes. Porn tapes, with minimal plot and lots of visual stimulation, tend to be directed at men. Romance novels, with more complex situational and character development tend to be directed at women.
In a normal situation, I probably fantasize about sex once a day or less. But when I do, it's usually a drawn out fantasy, more like a daydream involving lots of romance with Mr. Faceless, or what could realistically happen in a sexual encounter with someone I know. The image of two random strangers humping each other does absolutely nothing for me.
So to answer your question, yes, I and most females I know love to fantasize about sex... but only if there is some romance involved.

I personally believe that there should be more woman directors and ever writers in the porn industry because you are right, two strangers just saying hi and getting right to it just is not interesting. Also, with the amount of men wanting to watch these things with their partners, there should be videos that are more appealing to women. This could also have a hand in the reason that men are stereotyped to watch these films and women are stereotyped to be less than interested and also not overtly interested in "sex." Most women want passion intrigue, and romance. Put that into a porn film and I’d watch it.
