| Lower class people can look and act upper class and upper class people don't have to make their status visibly evident. Either way, such people are acting as if they are more important than everyone else becuase they are afraid of being judged as a ordinary or a failure in the eyes of society. They put on a flashy facade to sway the public opinion. Those people might say that looking high class is a matter of personal pride, but their 'pride' is for puplic display and there's generaly no reason to care about what complete strangers think about you. |
